Announcing the voice of Frutorious FIG – ChetMega!

We’re super excited at Infinite State Games today – Bristol rapper ChetMega has signed up with us to be the voice of Frutorious F.I.G.!

ChetMega – the voice of Frutorious F.I.G.

We’ll be in the studio recording some voice over with him in the coming weeks, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear his fresh hiphop voice gracing our game.

ChetMega is playing is Ibiza this year with DJ Alex Schmitz alongside a host of other music industry luminaries, and we’re very lucky indeed to have someone of his calibre helping us make the best game possible.

In the meantime, pop along to his SoundCloud page to hear some of his tracks. You can also follow him on Twitter @ChetMega

More lovely screen shots from Frutorious!  The art over-haul is now complete so what better way to celebrate than by having a screenshot fiesta!

Some alpha build play-through videos for Frutorious

We’ve just recorded a couple of play-through videos of two of the 108 levels in Frutorious.

We’re still at alpha, so all graphics and gameplay are subject to change but on the whole we’re pretty much there now.

Firstly, here’s a level set in Summer…

Second, here’s a level in Winter.  It’s slightly more difficult with a smattering of enemies in for good measure…

p.s. if you’re wondering what that bit of metal is on the bottom of the screen, that’s a saucepan we had the camera perched on. High tech, innit!

Some new designs in the Frutorious Shop!

Roll up, roll up! Come and have a look at some of the new designs we’ve got for you in Shop Frutorious!

http://www.cafepress.com/frutorious

We’re proud to announce not one… but five new designs for the shop, all featuring artwork from the game Frutorious.

There’s three new designs using the plasticine models from the game, along with two featuring the hand painted art work we had commissioned.

Pop along to the shop and have a looks!

Pedro-spotting : Bristol

We’ve spotted another Pedro!  This time in Bristol.

Pedro Spotting – Bristol

This one is disguised as a business man, resplendent in his handsome tie and ‘go-getter’ attitude.

But look at his shifty eyes there… he just can’t wait to turn a passer by into a kumquat!

Hand painted introduction art preview…

We’re starting to get the finished versions of our hand painted introduction sequence from Frutorious through from our illustrator, Katherine Evans.  We thought it was too good to not share, so here’s a sneaky peek…

How lovely is that looking?!

It’ll be one of six hand painted panels telling the introduction story for the game and we can’t wait to let you see them all!  For the mean time I’m sure you’ll agree, this is a really really nice bit of art and we’re very lucky indeed to have this illustrator’s unique artwork in our game.

Working on the last few levels of Frutorious

The first phase of the level design on Frutorious is nearly complete! We’re just crafting the last few of the levels now before putting it into test.

We’re working on the later levels at the moment. They’re a mixture of crazy, tricky and frantic ones, and we’re really looking forward to taking them on to our next phase of design – getting the levels into the hands of testers so we can refine them to PEAR-FECTION! (oh-ho!)

In the mean time, here’s some new screen shots of the in-progress levels being design.  We’ve also given the art a fair bit of tweaking which you can see in the lovely felt trees!

Competition time! Vote and win a Mr. Fruts!

We’re running a little competition and you could win your very own hand-made Mr Fruts crafted from Barry Island’s fair hands…

We got some stuff through from the Frutorious shop, and not only is the printing to a very high standard with excellent detail, but we can confirm that the product is made of super high quality material.  We’re really happy with our Frutorious merchandise.  Don’t take our word for it though, here’s our Creative Director, Barry Island, holding a Mr Fruts mug – Look at his little face!

Pedro in the wild!

Frutorious’s evil meanie skull ‘Pedro’ gets about a bit!  Probably off looking for people to turn into FRUTS.

Keen eyed testers have sent us these photos of Pedro that they’ve seen IN REAL LIFE.

This Pedro was spotted in Glastonbury.  He looks happy but don’t trust him; he’ll turn you into a grape!

This Pedro was found in Surrey in the curtains in a pub toilet.  Don’t know what’s more mysterious here, Pedro disguising himself as a cup of tea or the fact that there’s a pub which has net curtains in the toilet.

If you’ve seen any photos of Pedro while you’re out and about, post them in the comments section…
