Two-person studio making euphoric, deep, colourful and intensely fun arcade games. Veterans of handheld and console gaming. Purveyors of quality videogames since before you were ready.
Infinite State Games are Charlie Scott-Skinner and Mike Daw — a two-person independent studio based in London and Glastonbury, UK. Fungineering since 2008. Gourmet games for the discerning.
We're veterans of handheld and console gaming who specialise in making euphoric, deep, colourful and intensely fun arcade games. Our design philosophy is rooted in the golden age of the arcade — from a time when a tight game loop was enough to keep you coming back, when beating your own score and the promise of unlocking one more thing was all the motivation you needed.
We've shipped on PS Vita, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Oculus Quest, Xbox and PC. We've been picked up by Thalamus Digital and Digerati. We've been TIGA Award finalists. We've had a cult hit. And in December 2024 — a full ten years after the original Don't Die Mr Robot launched on PS Vita — we released our most ambitious game yet. ISG pride themselves on having the best bass in videogames, and they are not wrong.
Charlie once bragged that as a schoolboy he could get to level 6 on R-Type on a single 20p credit. Mike is the "what sound does the plane make when it hits a wall" guy. Between them, they make games that feel like they were designed by people who have memorised every cabinet in every arcade that ever existed.
Charlie and Mike have been talking about games since before it was embarrassing. Here's a selection of the best.
Press enquiries, business opportunities, fan mail, philosophical challenges, or just wanting to talk arcade games — the door is open.
